ABOUT THE PROJECT

follow on social networks

The war has scattered the members of YSOU, aged between 12 and 22, across many countries, but has not been able to interrupt the activity of the orchestra, which has quickly become internationally known. To support the youth orchestra in its work, members of the orchestra joined forces with musicians from the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin for a benefit concert entitled “WILNI: the free ones” in Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche. This symbolic place serves as a memorial to the memory of World War II and reminds all visitors of the horrors of wartime aggression.

During the concert, the World premiere of “Night Prayer” by Evgeni Orkin was performed – a piece written specifically for this occasion.

The project was initiated by a friend and supporter of the YSOU, Daniel Draganov, a violinist of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
