For the third year in a row, we are hosting the Chamber Music Academy for selected young musicians from across Ukraine. This year, the youngest participant is just 12 years old! As part of the project, we have formed a string quintet, two string quartets, and a wind quartet.
The program features masterclasses led by renowned European professors and chamber music experts, who will work intensively with each ensemble. The Academy will culminate in four public concerts:
July 10 at 17:00 — Marble Hall, Kurhaus, Bad Ems
July 11 at 19:30 — Gartensaal, Schloss Engers, Neuwied
July 12 at 19:30 — Gartensaal, Schloss Engers, Neuwied
July 13 at 11:00 — Courtyard Concert at Schloss Arenfels
The concert repertoire includes works by well-known classical composers such as Antonín Dvořák, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Jean Françaix, as well as music by Ukrainian composers Borys Lyatoshynsky and Evgeni Orkin — whose pieces will be presented to German audiences for the first time.
The goal of this project is to provide comprehensive professional development for young Ukrainian musicians, who represent the next generation of cultural leaders in Ukraine. At the same time, the Academy aims to promote Ukrainian musical heritage internationally, strengthen cultural diplomacy, and raise global awareness about Ukraine. Through music, we seek not only to build deeper dialogue with our European partners, but also to share the truth about the war launched by Russia and the war crimes committed on Ukrainian soil.
