ABOUT THE PROJECT

follow on social networks

The project that brought together young creatives from different countries — Ukraine, Germany, and Australia — involved about 100 artists, including over 50 musicians from YSOU. Musician and journalist Daniel Fallon initiated this project, collaborating with English producer Paul Beard and Australian entrepreneur John John McMurtrie. The result was the song “Blue Skies,” created to promote peace and solidarity with Ukraine.

Inspired to support fundraising efforts for refugee children, we participated in the Blue Skies project, forming an exciting creative partnership with the renowned Sydney soul band The Blueberries, Ukrainian singer Maryana Golovko, the Kyiv children’s choir “Shchedryk,” and our YSOU member, violinist and composer Ilya Bondarenko.

We recorded the symphonic version of the song in the cathedral in Düsseldorf under the direction of the young conductor Polina Lebedieva.

All proceeds from the song’s sales are directed to UNICEF to support Ukrainian refugee children.
